We know that SME houses some of the best idol singers in the idol world. We also know that YGE has let Taeyang, Seungri, and Park Bom release solo singles, much to the delight of their fans.

Personally, I’d like to see the following release a solo mini-album or single.

SNSD’s Taeyeon, Tiffany, or Jessica - these three ladies would do fantastic as solo singers. Taeyeon can hit pretty any genre with her voice (be it ballads or fun happy songs) and so would Tiffany and Jessica. I think that Tiffany does pretty well with ballad songs (like IU) and Jessica is better suited for happy songs (though with her nickname as Ice Princess, she could do well with slow, sad songs). I guess I’ll have to include Seohyun as well. At first, I wasn’t going to include her because to me, she seemed to not open up but after WGM and being with CNBlue’s Yonghwa, she has definitely opened up and I think she would do well.

Super Junior’s KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) - need I say more? They have the best voices in Super Junior, hands down. They can sing pretty much any genre and I think Kyuhyun would have the best shot out of the three of them (no, this isn’t my bias speaking). I see Yesung more with the soulful, sorrowful voice for ballads, which is perfect because his dancing isn’t his strong suit (I remember him taking the place of Onew (Jonghyun?) for their performance of Ring Ding Dong and I giggled because he just kinda stood there, then walked off to the side). Ryeowook definitely can bring the cheerful to a song (see Ryeowook’s duet with Beige). But Kyuhyun can sing just about anything and his voice just has the ability to make people smile (ok, probably just me).

SHINee’s Onew and Jonghyun - Onew would probably be one of the best at having a solo career. His “Onew ssangtae”, whether deliberate or accidental, helps in his ability to achieving something solo. Oh wait, I forgot, I was talking about solo singing activities. No, definitely Onew can pull it off, as evidenced by his opera solo stage for SHINee’s First Concert. And we all know how amazing Jonghyun’s voice is, though if he keeps hitting high notes, I fear for his voice.

f(x)’s Krystal and Luna - Like her sister, Krystal definitely has an awesome voice. Her voice sounds a lot like her sister’s and she has done several solo/duet songs with other artists. She’s still young, so she’s still working on her voice but with more training, I definitely can see her standing on the stage, singing solo. Luna, as long as she can withstand criticism and continue to mature as an artist, she too should be able to pull off a solo singing career. After all, she IS f(x)’s main vocalist and she can reach just about any note (that I’ve heard so far).

ahhh! i totally agree with you! practically every singer in SM can start a solo career in one go. butttt yunho and changmin can definitely start a solo as well! Yunho did exceptionally well in his musical and we dont need to confirm changmin’s singing abilities :D

I agree about Jonghyun and Onew. Jonghyun can really pick any genre to sing solo. As for Onew I would really want to hear him with a more edgy voice like Rock of Ages style, I think it compliments him really well!

haha i totally agree with you with all the members you chose! they’re all the main vocalists for their group.. they have amazing voices so i think they’d do well with solo singing activities.. i hope some of them are given the chance to show it though.


I totally agree with you on most of them..all of them are totally talented enough to release a solo album!  I would to see KyuHyun and Tiffany’s solo the most though!! I don’t know why, but I think that they can sing to any kind of songs! Thanks for sharing!
