I was just watching some old TV shows about magic and I realized I haven’t watched a Korean drama with the same storyline. I am curious how the drama writers would tackle a story like the movies Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. (If there are dramas like these please tell me). I want to see how Korean actors and/or idols will portray characters like in TV shows like Charmed, Merlin and Once Upon a Time. (If you are not familiar with these shows and are interested in dramas concerning magic, I suggest you try them out). To pass the time, here are some photos of our idols as famous characters in magical stories like Harry Potter.
Not my work by the way, props to the owners.

You know, I’ve noticed that Korean TV genres isn’t as diverse as American TV. There aren’t a lot of crime or spy dramas nor are there a lot of sci-fi dramas and I guess magic falls under that too. I’m thinking it’s because it costs more to produce these different genres. For a sad/funny/romantic drama, you’re not going to need explosions, great costumes or special effects.
I’m thinking they are already going for high budget crime/spy dramas ie Iris and City Hunter. Those historical dramas are pretty expensive to produce too. I’m now waiting for the magical storylines
