Wonder Girls perform unreleased songs

On September 4th, the Wonder Girls had an interview with z100 and iHeartRadio. Later in the evening they had a concert that was streamed live to viewers everywhere. Wonder Girls performed all of their greatest hits and even gave Wonderfuls a surprise. They performed 3 brand new songs that have never been heard or performed before. The first song was made by JYP and the second song was made by Yeeun. The first two songs are slow, whereas “Wake Up” is more of a dance track.

Ouch

This first song is by JYP himself and is a slow song starting off with an acoustic guitar. This is the type of song to bring back memories since it sounds like what someone would’ve released 10 years ago. The rap seemed a little out of place, but the lyrics all flowed together really well. I think maybe just an intro by Yubin would have sufficed.

Stay Together

This song is by member Yeeun. An even slower ballad. Seems like the relationship problems Yeeun experienced have made her blossom into a wonderful writer. I think this might be the only Wonder Girls song where we get to hear 2 members at a time sing in harmony. I don’t know if it was the song or the performance, but I got chills.

Wake Up

Now this is definitely the most energetic track out of the three. The repetition is a little tiring but as always, it’s catchy. It’s a really cute song and I think it would be good for promotion, especially in Korea.

In my opinion, I don’t sense any bit of “KPOP” in these songs so I think the girls will do just fine easing into the US market.
