Yes, we all know that popular groups like Big Bang or Super Junior are leading the Hallyu wave, but these four rapping gems should never be missed in the midst of all the chaos.

1. Mighty Mouth
You may or may not have heard of them, but Mighty Mouth is one of the most amazing duos when it comes to Korean hip hop. Despite not being too well known globally, these boys are huge hits when it comes to South Korea- having worked with Sunye of Wonder Girls and singer Son Dambi. Here’s their latest music video for their song “Bad Boy.”

2. Outsider
This guy, right here, is one of my forever idols in K-Pop. EVER. Why? Well, to put it simply, this guy is the fastest rapper in Korea, being able to clearly and correctly rap 17 syllables in one second. Yup, you heard me right, SEVENTEEN! He attempts (and succeeds at) a very uncommon type of skill, speed-rapping. Outsider started his career underground, but eventually gained popularity through his amazing rapping and through the emotions conveyed in his lyrics. Here’s my personal favorite song he sang, “Loner”.

3. Supreme Team
This duo I would say stands right next to Mighty Mouth when it comes to rapping. One word, wow. These two might not be able to match the speed of Outsider, but when it comes to power and emotion, they’ve got it spot on. Fun fact: I personally think that member Simon D is actually a REALLY good singer as well…
Anyways, here’s the music video for their song, “Dang Dang Dang”

4. E.via
Not many of you guys probably know her because her music is mainly underground (for its vulgar content, though really it’s not that bad), but this girl can RAP. Nicknamed the “female Outsider”, this girl is the fastest female rapper in South Korea. Her looks can be cute, but her rapping is definitely the opposite. Also, the “vulgar” content in her songs are actually there to make fun of the fact that “cute-looking” girls like her are expected to act all girly and cute (which I immensely respect her for). Here is her song “Shake!”

Yes, recognize that none (at least in my POV) are really K-Pop, but hip-hop, rap, etc…

I actually love all of them. I’m still waiting for Outsider to come back from the military :(
