Chapter Eleven.

Suho walked into the house along with Luhan to be met with the sound of tinkling laughter. He raised his eyebrows, automatically knowing it belonged to you, but curious to see what was the cause. As Luhan went upstairs to get changed, Suho quietly peeked into the kitchen to see you and D.O laughing together.

D.O had been in the middle of telling you a story about his past cooking experiment that had resulted in a disaster when you caught sight of Suho standing wordlessly at the doorway with a smile on his face.

“Suho!” you grinned, happily waving to the new presence.

Suho waved in return, and looked at D.O with a raised eyebrow. “You two seem to be pretty close.”

D.O instantly turned away with a light blush decorating his cheeks. “We were just cooking dinner.”

“We’ll be done in ten minutes, so I hope you all are hungry!” you smiled happily.

Suho nodded in reply, and left the kitchen to go grab a pair of clothes to change into, nodding as a greeting to the exhausted Baekhyun and happy Tao who had come in holding numerous amounts of bags. Chen, Lay, Kris, and Xiumin followed behind them with expressions of amusement on their faces.

“What happened to you, Bacon?” Xiumin sniggered as he eyed the bags that Baekhyun had dropped to the ground with a big heave of relief.

“Well Tao here decided that after finding clothes for Hanmi he deserved a little treat of his own and dragged me to every—”

A loud scream interrupted Baekhyun midway through his explanation and Luhan came out of his room holding Kisook by the collar. “There’s a brat in your room, Suho!”

“Noona!” Kisook cried with fear, and you immediately shot out of the kitchen and over to the boy.

“It’s okay, Luhan, he’s no harm,” you assured the suspicious other. Luhan let go of Kisook’s collar and the boy flung his arms around your waist in fright.

“Hanmi?” Suho asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I…I had been planning to ask you over dinner, b-but,” you began uneasily, peeking down at Kisook.

Kai, Sehun, and Chanyeol came out of their rooms to see what all the ruckus was about.

“She wants to know if the kid can stay,” D.O said, coming out of the kitchen as he wiped his hands on his apron. “She saved him from a gang, and now the kid’s attached to her.”

“Suho, it’s just for a week!” you exclaimed, continuing on after D.O. You were thankful that he gotten the hard part of the way. “He doesn’t have a place to go right now, and he’s only 8 years old and I promise he won’t be a burden to you guys. I’ll take care of him and I’ll buy him food with my own money and he can sleep with me, so you guys wont have to worry about either of us getting in your way.”

Suho stared at the two of you for a few seconds before shrugging. “Sure.”

“Hyung!” Kai exclaimed with an expression of disbelief. “Why are you giving in so easily?!”

“If I said no, I’m sure Hanmi would have decided to move out along with the kid,” Suho shrugged in response. “And you heard what she said; she’ll be taking care of him all on her own. You guys have no problem with this, right?” He asked the others.

“The brat is clingy, but I don’t want Hanmi to leave, so I’m fine with it,” Chanyeol shrugged, Sehun nodded along him in agreement.

“I’m fine with it,” Baekhyun and D.O pitched in, with Tao nodding along. The other members just shrugged, not really caring.

“Then it’s settled,” Suho said, turning back to you with a soft smile. “But we have two conditions to this, Hanmi.”

You nodded quickly, listening carefully to what he was going to say.

“First, Kisook won’t be sleeping with you, but instead with one of us,” Suho smiled. “And don’t even try to argue, or I’ll kick the kid out in a heartbeat. “

You nodded hesitantly. “What’s the second condition?”

“You will be accompanying Kai, Sehun, and Tao to their school for the entire week,” Suho continued.

Kai let out an angry “WHAT?!”, Sehun grinned happily and let out a small “Asa!”, and Tao clapped happily.

“Why?” you asked, not understanding why you would have to go to school.

“I guess we can say that it’ll help you not only get to know the members better, but it’ll also help you adjust to a non-assassin lifestyle?” Suho shrugged. “I’ve already spoken with the school about this matter, and they’re completely fine with it. Hanmi is supposed to be Kai’s cousin, and Sehun and Tao’s childhood friend. Since they’re all in different classes, you’ll be accompanying each of them for a day. Sehun’s day will be tomorrow, Kai’s after that, and Tao’s last.”

“I refuse,” Kai growled with a sharp glare.

“You’re in no place to, Kai,” Suho simply responded. “Don’t make me mad.”

Kai let out another growl of frustration and stalked into the room, slamming the door loudly behind him.

“What a drama queen,” Xiumin scoffed under his breath.

Kai appeared suddenly behind Xiumin and shoved him to the ground before disappearing again.

“Kai, you bastard! I’m your Hyung!” Xiumin exclaimed, smacking away Chen’s helping hand when the boy started to snigger.

“Now that that’s settled,” Tao grinned happily. “Let’s look at your new clothes, Hanmi!” He held up several bags in his hands.

Your jaw dropped at the sight, and you made your way down the stairs with Kisook clinging onto your from behind. “I thought I said one or two outfits?”

“It’s a welcoming gift,” Tao grinned, waving his hand as if to brush your words away. “Besides, you’re a normal teenage girl now, and the clothes you’re wearing now aren’t going to cut it.”

“T-thank you, Tao and Baekhyun,” you smiled gently, bowing 90 degrees towards them. “Is this why it took so long for the two of you to return? I’m very sorry to be such an inconvenience.”

“Don’t apologize Hanmi!” Baekhyun said quickly. “We would have caught the same exact bus as you guys, if this guy,” Baekhyun muttered flicking his head in Tao’s direction. “Didn’t decide to do shopping of his own. If you think your clothes are a lot, just wait till you see his. He bought so much that we had to leave some bags at the store to come back and get another day since we couldn’t carry it.”

You smiled thankfully at the two of them before suddenly realizing something. “Suho, what is Kisook going to do while I’m with Sehun?”

“He could stay with me, Xiumin, and Luhan at work. We work in a café, so he shouldn’t be too bored,” Suho answered, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

“Would it be too much of a bother, Luhan?” you asked, turning to the baby faced boy who was lounging on the couch with Sehun.

Luhan shook his head. “Fine with me.”

“Noona, I don’t want to leave you,” Kisook pouted, looking up at you with sad eyes.

Before you could replied, Luhan made his way over to the two of you and crouched in front of him. “Coming to hang out with us Hyungs will be fun. We’ll even teach you how to make latte art so you can make it for your Noona, alright?”

Kisook hesitated before slowly nodding in agreement.

“Then it’s settled,” Suho smiled.

“Hanmi, I’ve picked the cutest outfit for you to wear on your first day of school!” Tao grinned, happily holding up and outfit made up of a shirt with cut off sleeves and shorts. He beamed at you like a proud mother.

“I… I don’t think I can wear that,” you murmured apologetically in reply, casting your eyes away from his overly eager ones.

Tao’s face instantly fell. “Why not? You don’t like it? Does it look too big? It fits the measurements that were taken though!”

“N-No, it’s not that,” you replied. “It’s just…” You rolled up your sleeves; revealing your scarred skin as an answer.

Tao’s mouth formed into an “O” shape, and his face fell. “I forgot about them, I’m sorry, Hanmi. I was being inconsiderate.”

You shook your head and gave him a bright smile. “It’s fine, Tao. You don’t need to apologize for your kindness.”

“I think I could help with that,” Lay spoke up softly.

The group of you turned to face the other with a curious expression.

“My scars?” you asked with a cocked head.

Lay nodded in reply. “I’ve been thinking about it, and I might be able to destroy the damaged and dead skin that your scars linger on and then recreate it without the blemishes. I’m not sure if I can actually do it, but it’s worth a try.”

You quickly nodded your head and went to his side. If he could get rid of the scars that you hated most, you would be eternally grateful to him. You pulled off your jacket to reveal your sleeveless shirt, rolling your eyes when Sehun looked away with a blush. Lay softly a placed his hands against your arm, and a light glow emitted from them like they had done before.

A few minutes passed, and Lay slowly retracted his hands. You held in a breath to see the results of his work, and you let out a gleeful cry when you found your arm marking free. “LAY!” you exclaimed with delight, wrapping your arms around his waist to pull him in for a thankful hug. He blushed at the touch, much to the amusement of the other members.

Kisook whined and tugged at your shirt until you pulled away.

“Thank you, Lay,” you smiled brightly at him. “Those scars contained so many painful memories… I’m really thankful that you got rid of them.”

Lay simply smiled in response before holding out his other hand for you to lay your scarred arm in.

You closed your eyes and inhaled a deep breath.

Once your scars were gone, so would your past.
