Wanna check out my favorite JYJ songs? Click me!

I feel so guilty for typing JYJ instead of DBSK because I’m one of those Cassies that still sees them as DBSK. -tears-

Gosh, it was so hard to narrow this list down to only 5. I love JYJ - Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun’s voices so much. I honestly believe, past my clear bias, that they are the strongest vocal group out there in kpop. Yoochun’s deep voice seriously can make a girl shiver and fall into a trance, Junsu’s voice, his sheer control and long notes make you just drop your jaw and in awe and Jaejoong’s voice is just so unique it rings in your head even after you finish listening to it.

In any case, here are my top 5 songs, from no.5 to no. 1

No. 5 - Mission

This song is from JYJ’s first offical Korean album In Heaven released in 2011. This song is really…different hence why it is definitely up there but not my no.1. But not at all in the bad way. When I first heard this song it captured my attention but it’s not normally a song that I would regularly listen to. The beat is a little to monotone but still addictive at the same time - it’s definitely very powerful and sharp with it’s quick and fast beats. The words kinda draw you in a put you in a trance too! I especially love Yoochun’s rap. Oh gosh, that Engrish. Chunface, never change!

No. 4 - Be My Girl

This song comes off of JYJ’s first CD The Beginning which is also their first fully titled English album. The music of this song is really catchy, sweet and up beat that lulls you into bopping your head along. The vocals match the tone perfectly and you can’t help but be swayed by the song. I never get tired listening to this song. I especially love Junsu’s vocals in this track, his English accent was very good, almost better than Yoochun’s dare I say! Jaejoong isn’t heard as much in this song other than the chorus but it’s still a great song that I highly recommend.

No. 3 -Nine

Also from In Heaven, this song really captured my attention from the slow, almost languid beat it holds, but the sweet voices of JYJ. I love the deep tones of this song and how it seems to emphasis vocals over back ground music. I especially love the mix of Junsu and Jaejoong’s duets and the deep addition of Yoochun. The song is really a great song to listen to on a long bus ride when you want to ponder the relationships you have. Well at least that’s how I use it!

No. 2 - In Heaven

There couldn’t have been a more perfect comeback song than this. I admire DBSK/JYJ the most because of their powerful vocals and their sweet music. And gosh darn it if In Heaven isn’t one of the best ballads I’ve ever heard. I was absolutely blown away the first time I heard it and it made my heart skip a beat. The final verse/bridge (I’m not a musician so excuse my fail at technical terms) when Jaejoong holds that long note - my breath literally held. I was just amazed at their sheer talent. I could feel the urgency and the love in every note, it’s just that amazing. It irked the heck out of me that JYJ couldn’t promote this amazing song. But this is not the place to discuss those battles. In short, I dare any one to listen to In Heaven and not recognize Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong’s vocal prowess.

No. 1 - W

I didn’t want to give you guys the studio version because I wanted you guys to see the sheer emotion they put in on their live performances!

This being my favorite is song has everything to do with bias. The song comes off of their extended play The… which is their Japanese debut so to speak. It is not just a fangirl’s imagination, this song is for Cassiopeia, Changmin and Yunho and what DBSK used to be. Past the actual emotional implications of this song is the absolute amazement of the actual song. It floors me how when JYJ open their mouths and sing I am absolutely entranced. “Keep in mind that I love you…” oh my gosh, I teared up the first time I heard it. Their soft voices that carry such a powerful meaning, each note filled with such love and conviction, gosh any other Cassie ball their eyes out? The way that they sing just makes me want to choke up, they really believe/mean it when they sing and I can feel that emotion and it sweeps me away. Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun’s voices are at the best for me in this song. I absolutely love everything about this song - the meaning, the music, the singing and the JYJ. This is one of those songs I’ll have on my Ipod 10 years from now and still enjoy.

-phew-

Well, if you guys have stuck around this long, thank you! I know I rambled on a lot, but I really love JYJ and a small paragraph dedicated to each song isn’t enough to pronounce my love for them! I hope you guys understand my point of view, and if not I hope you enjoyed their songs.

Tell me - what’s your favorite JYJ song?

I’ll be back with a HoMin/TVXQ list and a DB5SK/TV5XQ list as well!

In Heaven and W are my top 2 favorite songs too, if not two of my favorite songs EVER. I believe Junsu has the best voice in kpop, if not one of the best in the world (yes, I am willing to say that) with Jaejoong right behind him.

In Heaven is such a beautiful song and their voices are like a gift sent from god omg.

W touches my heart. More so than most other songs. The message they were sending to Cassiopeia and to Homin… <3 Every time I listen to this song (ESPECIALLY EVERY TIME I SEE THE LIVE PERFORMANCE) my eyes water. I just… I just can’t. It aches my Cassie heart ;-;

I love them all! want to see their comeback!

I loved In Heaven most. Well I love all their songs anyway :D

its such a cheerful song, and it always reminds me of sungkyunkwan scandal, which immediately cheers me up for everything :D
